FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves applying epibulbar anesthesia with microscope in dorsal position until pulsations appear in it. Diastolic pressure is measured in anterior ciliary artery. Compression applied to the anterior ciliary artery is increased until pulsations disappear in it, and systolic blood pressure is measured. Mean pressure value is calculated from the systolic and diastolic blood pressure values in anterior ciliary artery. Difference between the mean pressure value in anterior ciliary artery and intraocular pressure is used for determining perfusion pressure in anterior eye segment.
EFFECT: high reliability in determining perfusion pressure in anterior eye segment.
