FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology, and may be used in ophthalmologic survey to forecast development of glaucoma in case of progressing nearsightedness. In patients with progressing nearsightedness, using method of triplex scanning, values of indices of peripheral resistance are identified in orbital arteries of the right (RIOD OA) and the left (RIOS OA) of eyes and in one of rear long ciliary arteries of the right (RIOD RLCA) and the left (RIOS RLCA) of eyes. Then hemodynamic iridociliary coefficients are calculated, using the following formulas: ICCOD=RIOD OA/RIOD RLCA, ICCOS=RIOS OA/RIOS RLCA, where ICCOD - hemodynamic iridociliary coefficient of the right eye, ICCOS - hemodynamic iridociliary coefficient of the left eye. If value of any iridociliary coefficient is below 0.9, development of glaucoma is forecasted on according eye.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to forecast development of glaucoma in case of progressing nearsightedness with high extent of validity.
