FIELD: machine engineering, manufacture of working screws of screw compressors and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making tool with shaping cutting edges; checking them; mounting tool by inclination angle relative to blank and spaced from blank while providing desired kinematics links with tool and(or) with blank for cutting process. In order to enlarge using range of cutting tool, it is provided with set of templates for shaping edges of tool designed for several mounting parameters. Cutting edge shape is controlled according to gap values between template and cutting edges. Change of cutting edge shape as tool wears is evaluated and then tool mounting is changed or cutting edges are subjected to preliminary correction according to selected mounting parameters. Then cutting process is realized with new parameters of tool mounting.
EFFECT: enlarged using range of tool for making screws.
