FIELD: fire-fighting, particularly to extinguish coal mine fires.

SUBSTANCE: method involves forming additional partition simultaneously with main partition creation; securing fire-extinguishing plant provided with aero-engine in mine tunnel in front of fire site; preparing fire-extinguishing mixture by fuel combustion; supplying the mixture behind the main partition, wherein fuel combustion is continued up to full combustion suppression in fire site. Fire-extinguishing plant comprises additional partition installed in front of main one having orifice. The fire-extinguishing plant is of wheel-and-rail mounted type and comprises three platforms. The first platform is of flat-bed type and carries aero-engine fixed thereto. The aero-engine is connected to oil source through generator and to partitions through compressor. The second platform has window. Installed on the second platform are hold-down and support posts provided with hinged shoes for fire-extinguishing plant setting in mine tunnel. The third platform supports isothermal vessel connected to aero-engine by means of supply pipeline.

EFFECT: increased flame suppression and explosive atmosphere retarding due to inert medium creation.
