SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and means designed to prevent large-scale fires, including forest fires and fires at oil and gas fields located in hard-to-reach places (swampy terrain, water barriers, deep snow, etc.). The expected result is achieved by the fact that according to the method for localization and continuous extinguishing of fires, consisting in the fact that firefighting equipment is delivered to the place of extinguishing the fire, by means of which the extinguishing agent is supplied to the fire zone, the supply of extinguishing agent is stopped after the complete elimination of the fire, according to the invention, a helicopter and a mobile firefighting unit with a volume of fire extinguishing agent of at least 30 cubic meters capable of overcoming impassable terrain and water obstacles with a depth of more than 1.5 meters, and the mobile firefighting unit is placed in the fire extinguishing zone and moved as the local fire areas are suppressed to the fire extinguishing sites in the areas covered by fire, the helicopter is used to regularly feed the mobile firefighting unit with fire extinguishing agent as it is consumed, thus ensuring the continuous process of extinguishing a fire.

EFFECT: objective of the present invention is to create a technology and a mobile firefighting unit for extinguishing large-scale fires, providing the technical result, which consists in ensuring the continuous supply of fire extinguishing agent to the fire zone until it is completely suppressed.
