FIELD: microwave engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed bandpass filter characterized in its capability of suppressing stray passbands of open dielectric filter cavities has n sections, where n is number of resonance-tuned filter sections that equals n ≥ 3. Sections are made in the form of hollow threaded metal cylinders joined together and secured with aid of lock nuts to form external cylindrical screen. Filter also has (n - 2) open dielectric disc cavities, each being disposed in holder made in the form of insulating support and mounted in one of hollow metal cylinders. Extreme sections of screen have metal end walls. Each of extreme sections of screen accommodates coupling element with coaxial-connector central conductor connected to one of its ends. Dielectric cavities have coaxial holes; support also has internal holes to receive fastening components.
EFFECT: enhanced heat transfer, facilitated adjustment of frequency response.
