FIELD: microwave engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed filter primarily designed for use in ultrahigh frequency band and in long-wave part of superhigh frequency band has n sections, where n ≥ 3, made in the form of hollow metal cylinders threaded at ends, mounted coaxially, and interconnected, as well as (n - 2) open dielectric cavities. Each dielectric cavity is made in the form of dielectric disc sector and mounted in holder made in the form of flat-wall angle pieces parallel to cylinder axes and connected to inner surfaces of the latter. Extreme sections have metal end walls each mounting coupling member for connecting coaxial pair. Angle of dielectric-cavity sectors coincides with that of conducting-material angle pieces. Threads on ends of hollow cylinders make it possible to adjust coupling coefficients between dielectric cavities and to varying distance between extreme dielectric cavities and coupling members allows for adjusting coupling coefficients between them, that is, coupling of extreme cavities with input lines.
EFFECT: ability of suppressing stray passbands, improved heat transfer from open dielectric cavities.
