FIELD: method and device for controlling power in wireless communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: signal being received is primarily processed for producing soft solution symbols (multi-bit value) for power control commands, transferred from several base stations. Each soft solution symbol for each base station is then scaled on basis of scaling coefficient, connected to base station, and which is connected to quality of received signal for power control symbols for base station. Scaling allows assignment of larger weight to power control symbols for more reliably received vase stations. Scaled symbols of soft solution for each power control period are then combined to produce solution metric for the period. Each solution metric is then compared to certain threshold, and decision is taken about control over power for each solution metric on basis of comparison result.
EFFECT: increased reliability and improved working characteristics.
