FIELD: biotechnological methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a group of inventions: lycopene production method, crystalline lycopene, employment of crystalline lycopene and compositions based thereon in food processing, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries as well as dietetic additive. Method is based on using (+) and (-) strains of fungus Blakeslea trispora, wherein (+) strain is CPAI(+) and (-) strain is selected from group consisting of L25(-), CMAI(-), CMA3(-), CMA4(-), CMBI(-), CMB2(-), LMAI(-), or combinations thereof. Method also envisages extraction of lycopene contained in purified biomass with organic solvent and simplifies isolation process and product purity increase. Thus obtained lycopene is base of composition consisting of oil suspension of crystalline lycopene and composition of lycopene dispersed in cold water.
EFFECT: increased yield of lycopene and enabled preparation of stabilized lycopene compositions for immediate use in food processing and pharmaceutical industries.
