FIELD: noncoking metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: source stock is previously reduced, the pre-reduced stock with alloying additives and reducing agent is fed into an electric arc furnace, the electric arc is excited, stock melting and final reduction are performed, the finished product and exhaust gas are discharged. The source stock is introduced into the exhaust gas flow after the final reduction, the resulting mixture is applied to the prereduction reactor, and the source stock prereduction is performed by forming the said mixture in the form of a vertically ascending flow expanding along the motion direction, and providing the recirculation of stock particles in this flow; after that, the gas and particle mixture is separated into gas and prereduced stock, which is fed into the electric furnace feeder. The solid-core prereduction reactor is designed as a vertical conical shell with the cone vertex down, with a cover; a liquid-core reactor exhaust gas pipeline, a source stock feeder is connected to this pipeline.
EFFECT: decrease in power and reducing agent consumption; use of gaseous and dispersed reducing agents, decrease in emissions of hazardous substances into atmosphere; simplification of metal production process flow.
