FIELD: road building, particularly to construct and reconstruct road crossings and interconnections between roads on different levels, preferably in cities.
SUBSTANCE: road interchange comprises two roads crossed on different levels, two right-turn connections, left-turn connection, left-turn serpentine connection, road turnoff and junction areas. The road interchange also has serpentine pass made on upper level and having section coinciding with left-turn connection, two left-turn serpentine road entries, two right-turn road entries and four U-turns. Serpentine radius is defined as L≥Hx2ctgα+l, where L is serpentine radius, H is distance between crossing road surfaces, m, l is length of horizontal road section between connection and entry and is equal to 1.0-450 m, α is inclination of road connection or entry, deg. Commerce, consumer service and industrial facilities may be located over lower road limited by serpentine pass. In accordance with the second embodiment road interchange has additional left-turn serpentine connection and serpentine pass located on lower level thereof and having one common section, as well as left-turn connection. Serpentine radius is L≥Hx2ctgα+l, where l=1.0-500 m. Commerce, consumer service and industrial facilities may be located under upper road delimited by serpentine pass.
EFFECT: possibility to reduce area occupied by road interchange, improved traffic redistribution, elimination of traffic jams and increased traffic capacity along with enhanced road safety.
