FIELD: veterinary science.
SUBSTANCE: in calves during the first 1-1.5 h after their birth one should measure umbilical diameter with a cutimeter or a slide gage and at its value being above 18 mm it is possible to predict the pathology of puerperal period in cows. The innovation enables to accelerate and simplify the prediction of the above-mentioned pathology in cows.
EFFECT: higher accuracy and efficiency of prediction.
