FIELD: railway transport; repairs of wheel-sets.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to renewing and strengthening o worn-out surfaces of axle-box necks by electric arc spray coating. Surface to be repair by spray coating is prepared by turning, rolling, degreasing and cutting of fine thread. Spray coating of surface, thus prepared, is done by spraying metal drops by compressed gas, and mechanical machining of layer, thus formed, to provide nominal size. Turning of worn-out surface before spray coating is done to depth of 0.95-1.20 mm, and spraying is performed at compressed gas pressure of 0.6-0.7 MPa. One gas is used from row of gases, namely, air, carbon dioxide, exhaust gases on internal combustion engine, nitrogen or inert gases.
EFFECT: increased capacity at spray coating, increased thickness of coating to 1.2 mn at preservation of high quality of renewed coating.
