FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the improved method for synthesis of 2,6-diamino-4-hydroxytoluene. Method involves hydrolysis of triaminotoluene sulfate in water at temperature 35-40°C followed by neutralization of hydrolyzate with alkali and soda to pH = 7-8, and isolation of ready product by extraction with ethyl acetate and evaporation of extract under vacuum. Method allows selective carrying out the process by amino-group at p-position to methyl group to obtain the end substance with high yield and high purity degree.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
