FIELD: used in metallurgy apparatuses for processing fuel, namely production of metallurgical mean-temperature coke and by-product fuel gas by thermal oxidation treatment of coal in dense layer.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus is in the form of shaft type apparatus. Shaft is made with inclination relative to vertical by angle almost equal to dynamic value of angle of rest of coal and coke whose value depends upon kind of coal, for example 25 - 35°.
EFFECT: simplified design, increased specific efficiency, small size and lowered metal consumption, improved operational reliability due to absence of moving parts.
