FIELD: technology for measuring color, in particular, colorimetry of paintwork materials.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to invention, sample field of color being measured is positioned on RGB screen of personal computer monitor near luminous field of comparison of alternating color of screen of RGB monitor and illuminated by moving source of with light by means of semi-transparent mirror, installed at an angle of 45° to horizontal observation axis of operator. Immediately below sample field second luminous area of monitor screen is positioned, used as alternating field of thinning color of sample. Field of sample and field for thinning its color are optically combined on operator axis by means of reflecting mirror, mounted in parallel to semi-transparent mirror. Colors of comparison field and sample color thinning field may be changed by software means (for example, using Adobe Photoshop software), by selecting certain ratio of luminescence brightness Br, BG, BB of monitor pixel elements. The essence of measurement is in finding such a digital value of colorimetric brightness Nr, NG, Nb of pixel elements while changing number of units of brightness, at which sample and comparison fields do not differ in color. For some colors, chrominance coordinates (x,y) are outside the color coverage zone of (R),(G),(B) triangle and it is only possible to even out fields of sample and comparison by decreasing purity of sample color field, i.e. by thinning its color with one of RGB radiations. Thinning process is performed by means of reflecting and semi-transparent mirrors. One of numbers Nr, NG, Nb in color equation for corresponding point on one of limits of (R),(G),(B) triangle is negative, indicating absence of one of RGB radiations in comparison field. Therefore, on basis of absent radiation of one of RGB colors in comparison field, necessity of enabling of one of RGB colors in thinning field is fixed.
EFFECT: simplified process of selection of prescribed composition of paint.
