SUBSTANCE: the present innovation could be applied by the specialists in different fields. One should detect a woman's age - P1 (yr), duration of menopause - P2 (yr), either availability or absence of ovarian operation - P3: if ovaries are intact, P3=0; if there was the resection of one or two ovaries , P3=1; if both ovaries are resected, P3=2; index of body weight - P4 (body weight in kg/(height in m)2). Diagnostic index F1 should be calculated by the following formula: F1=0.11*P1+0.22*P2+0.77*P3-0.07*P4-4.41. If F1>0 - osteoporosis should be diagnosed. If F1<0 one should conclude upon its absence and carry out the detection of osteopenia in such women due to determining diagnostic index F2. For this purpose it is important to determine a woman's age (yr) - P1; duration of menopause (yr) - P2; either the presence or absence of ovarian operations - P3: if ovaries are intact, P3=0; If there was the resection of one or two ovaries, P3=1; if both ovaries are resected, P3=2; index of body weight - P4 (body weight in kg/(height in m)2). Then F2 should be calculated by the following formula: F2=0.007*P1+0.29*P2+1.21*P3-0.09*P4+1.48. If F2>0 one should diagnose osteopenia, If F2<0 one should conclude upon its absence. The innovation helps any specialist to detect the availability of osteopenia or osteoporosis just during the first visit by not carrying out osteodensitometry and choose the most optimal way of prophylaxis and treatment of the present pathologies in due time.
