FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding seeds onto surface of tilt plates-electrodes within working chamber; treating seeds in electrode gaps by corona discharge current; thereafter discharging seeds. Treatment of seeds is carried out during 2 s using corona discharge current at current density of 0.8-0.2x10-3 A/m2. Apparatus has seed hopper and multiple-tier cassettes made in the form of plates-electrodes arranged in parallel with one another and located in inclined position on frame. Plates-electrodes define row of working cavities for treatment of seeds in corona discharge field. Electrodes of adjacent working cavities are aligned with respect to one another. Plates-electrodes have continuous surfaces. Electrodes defining individual working cavities are coupled to individual high-voltage power sources which are not connected through electroplated layout. High-voltage AC current sources are used as power sources.

EFFECT: increased germination ability of seeds and reduced cost for seed treatment procedure.
