FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to disinfection of drinking water under extremal conditions, under field conditions, or when consuming water from surface sources in residential sites having no centralized water-treating and water-supply systems. Solid composition comprises chlorine-containing disinfectant: dichloroisocyanuric acid sodium or potassium salt (2-25%), sodium or potassium chloride (10-75%) and additionally acetic or phosphoric acid alkali metal salt or trichloroisocyanuric acid (1-30%). Proposed composition can be used in the form of dispensable dozed packaging as powder, granules, capsules, or tablets. Composition is further supplemented with binding agents, dispersants, colorant, odorant, whereas activated carbon is added to neutralize excess active chlorine formed. Composition of invention is inexpensive and nontoxic preparation, easy to use, and providing higher biocide efficiency, shortened disinfecting time, and lower concentration as compared to known compositions based on hypochlorites and dichloroisocyanurates.
EFFECT: increased water disinfection efficiency and reduced cost.
