FIELD: hydraulic structure, particularly to prevent snowmelt floods and rainfall floods.
SUBSTANCE: flood control device comprises modular structures adapted to enclose water bodies or waterways. Upper edges of modular structures are over prospective flood water level. Each modular structure is made as concave glass-fiber screen with hollow stiffening ribs. The screens overlap each other in river water stream direction and are provided with rubber packing means. Supports are installed from side opposite to river bed. The supports include triangular frames of glass-fiber pipes. The frame apexes are fastened to stiffening ribs of the screens. Lower frame ends are connected to banks by means of clips. To provide air-tight connection between screen and river bank polyethylene film is used. The polyethylene film is attached to screen and river bank with pins. Screens are connected with each other by flared connection.
EFFECT: increased service life, strength, corrosion- and fire-resistance, decreased assembling and disassembling time and possibility of device storage in flood-hazardous zones.
