FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices designed for suppressing aerodynamic noises produced by pneumatic equipment and exhaust systems of compressed gas or air. Proposed noise suppressor contains intake branch pipe and housing made of porous material rigidly connected with branch pipe. Housing is made of porous material in form of cylindrical and spherical shells assembled into integral unit. Holes are made additionally in cylindrical shell in ring sections at height "b" from base of intake branch pipe to section at height "h" with center-to-center layer-by-layer distance "c". Holes are made at angle of 60° to each other forming angles with vertices directed from axis of shells. Hole is made on top of spherical shell. Ratio of height of housing H to diameter D of cylindrical shell is within the range of optimum values: H/D=1.5-3.0.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of noise suppression.
