FIELD: foundry, namely manufacture of different products of slag, for example tubes, acid-resistant fittings, paving blocks, electrical-engineering insulators, building articles (boards, blocks, tiles, stair flights and so on) braking shoes, railway road sleepers and weights.
SUBSTANCE: method for making articles of slag comprises steps of producing liquid slag; filling with it working cavities of forms; soaking slag in forms for cooling it and then removing cooled article out of forms. At first batch of heated slag is poured into specially used squeezing chamber. Then slag from said chamber is displaced to working cavity of form by action of mechanical pressure. Slag is displaced to form at temperature lower than "solidus" point, mainly at 800-900°C. Polysterene-foam gasifiable patterns are used for shaping articles. Single articles are reinforced with non-compact material such as metal cuttings or quartz sand.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of article production, lowered cost price of articles, possibility for recovering blast furnace slag, enlarged assortment of products.
