FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: ear thermometer has temperature-sensitive detector, which detector has longitudinal axis and outer surface going from distal end of ear thermometer, rejecting contrivance, which has at least one pin going from distal end of ear thermometer. Shape of pin provides motion along outer surface of detector. Cap of temperature-sensitive detector is mounted onto distal end of ear thermometer to provide clamping of outer surface of detector. Cap of detector has at least one longitudinal rib protruding at radial direction from its internal surface. There is proximal end at longitudinal rib. Shape of pin is adapted for making contact with proximal edge of longitudinal rib.

EFFECT: improved precision of measurement; reduced risk of spread of infection.
