SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes electric power source and inductor having multiphase type stator with running field. Inductor includes two or three elemental DC-sources. Each winding is connected with one of said DC-sources. Each DC-source has unit for controlling intensity of its output electric current. Position of electromagnetic braking is changed due to controlling intensity of electric current. EFFECT: possibility for changing position of electromagnetic braking without changing position of inductor and without changing operational mode of casting plant. 9 cl, 12 dwg
