SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a sensor (1) for measurement of level of surface of metal in liquid phase for a plant of continuous casting, comprising a crystalliser, having an upper side (3), where the hole (4) goes, in which the liquid metal flows in, characterised by the fact that this sensor comprises: an excitation coil (7) with an air core oriented perpendicularly to the upper side (3) of the crystalliser and supplied by current to create magnetic field, power lines of which spread along upper power lines (14), which stretch from the crystalliser, and along lower power lines (15), which cover the upper side of the crystalliser and the surface of the molten metal - a lower receiving coil (8) with an air core, parallel to the excitation coil, in which the induced voltage is generated as a result of action of lower power lines (15), which vary as molten metal surface level changes, and an upper receiving coil (9) with an air core, parallel to the excitation coil (8), applied directly onto the lower receiving coil (8) and having identical geometry and characteristics, in which induced voltage is generated as a result of action of upper power lines (14), which substantially do not suffer disturbances specified by the surface of the molten metal.
