FIELD: the invention refers to a mode and an arrangement for control over a supporting half-cell.

SUBSTANCE: the essence of the invention is in the following: the supporting half-cell forms with a measuring half-cell a potentiometer measuring place for definition and/or control of concentration of ions in the sphere. At that the concentration of ions is defined with the help of at least one measuring signal received in the measuring circuit between the measuring and the supporting half-cells. According to the invention the measuring place is exploited periodically in a working and a testing regimes. At that in the working regime the concentration of ions is measured and the testing regime the functional capability of the supporting half-cell is controlled.

EFFECT: the invention allows to purposefully control of the supporting half-cell of the measuring place on a misfunction.
