FIELD: electrical engineering; electric motors for intermittent drives.
SUBSTANCE: proposed stepping motor has stator whose teeth carry winding coils. Rotor has electricity conducting part in the form of cylinder provided with vertical slit throughout entire active length of rotor filled with insulating material. Cylinder has shaft-mounted ferromagnetic core. Switching device has contacts for connecting stator winding coils to three-phase power supply. In order to provide for rotor retention switching-device control unit functions to connect five phase coils at a time to form arched line in which one phase sequence is up to line middle point and reverse one, after that point. Control unit disconnects last coil of line to initiate rotor step and simultaneously disconnects first coil of line and connects last coil and that next to last coil of first line for completing the step.
EFFECT: simplified design and provision for intermittent movement of smooth rotor.
