FIELD: mechanical industry, possible use for sealing rotating shafts.
SUBSTANCE: magneto-liquid shaft packing contains magnetic system, consisting of constant magnet and pole additions, enveloping the shaft and making a gap with it, filled with magnetic liquid. Surfaces of polar additions and/or shaft, forming the gap, have magnetic flow concentrators made in form of teeth, shelves or formed by mated grooves. Non-magnetic cover is applied to edges of polar additions and/or shaft, contacting the magnetic liquid.
EFFECT: increased reliability and resource of magneto-liquid seals.
