FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic fluid shaft sealing includes magnetic system consisting of constant magnet and pole attachments enveloping the shaft and forming together with them the gap filled with magnetic fluid. Surfaces of pole attachments and/or shaft, which form the gap, have magnetic flow concentrators in the form of teeth, protrusions or formed with conjugated grooves. Edges of pole attachments and shaft are rounded, and surfaces contacting with magnetic fluid have non-magnetic coating.
EFFECT: higher sealing reliability.
