FIELD: manufacture of three-dimensional objects, in particular, selective reduction of powder waste during selective caking inhibition when manufacturing such objects.

SUBSTANCE: method for manufacturing a three-dimensional object contains first stage of creating the layer of powder material, which transitions to combined form during heating. Second stage of method involves ensuring selective engagement of zones of powder material layer by means of selective heating of zone sections. Selective engagement of powder layer zones includes caking powder material layer zones not subjected to influence of inhibitor. Caking is performed with usage of element for heating by radiation, containing lath heating element, having a set of individual controlled heating elements. Each heating element contains a shutter, capable of movement to prevent contact of heat of heating element and powder layer. Third stage of method includes repeating the creation of layer and ensuring selective engagement, until engagement leads to creation of required three-dimensional object. Also, two variants of device are defined for selective heating during manufacture of three-dimensional object. First variant of device for selective heating which is used during manufacture of three-dimensional object contains air collector and heating element, connected to air collector. Second variant of the device for selective heating, used during manufacture of three-dimensional object, contains an element for heating by radiation.

EFFECT: system and method are executed faster and cost less than commonly used system and method.
