FIELD: dosimetry of ionizing radiations, possible use in systems for radiation monitoring of objects and territories, in systems of trans-boundary customs control for registration of beta-, gamma- and neutron radiations and mixed radiation.
SUBSTANCE: suggested scintillation detector contains scintillation block, including two contacting scintillators, photo-detection device and electronic signal processing block, while each one of contacting scintillators is made in form of a ball and is partially covered by light-reflecting cover, both being positioned in a single body, covered with light-absorbing cover on the inside, while photo-receiving device contains at least two photo-detectors positioned at 90° angle relatively to each other.
EFFECT: development scintillation detector of mixed radiations with increased sensitivity, ensuring distribution of investment of each component of mixed radiations into common dose even in case when the level of one radiation type is close to background level.
