FIELD: radiation detection.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of detecting sources of neutron and gamma radiation using scintillation detectors. The scintillation unit of the scintillation detector of neutron and gamma radiation is made in form of a light guide coated with a reflective layer and consisting of at least two alternating layers of a neutron-sensitive scintillator and a transparent gamma-sensitive scintillator, while the detector contains one or two silicon photomultipliers installed with on one or two end sides of the light guide, respectively, each of which is optically connected to the light guide through an additionally installed collecting lens coated with a reflective layer.
EFFECT: increase in efficiency of registration of neutron and gamma radiation.
