FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, technique for corn harvesting machines.

SUBSTANCE: cob separation apparatus has pair of rifled rolls rotating in opposite directions and cob separating plates positioned above rifled rolls and fixed on frame. Cob separating plates are connected to frame by means of piston-type damping device including piston and cylinder equipped with two branch pipes provided in its lower part, said branch pipes being connected with one another through channel, with by-pass openings provided in one branch pipe and return valve provided in other branch pipe.

EFFECT: improved quality of separating cobs from stems, reduced damage to cobs and grain shelling extent.
