SUBSTANCE: proposed rectangular-to-round-section adapter has transforming waveguide section and matching conductor disposed within transforming waveguide section in a slightly spaced relation to rectangular waveguide. Character of matching conductor varies in operating frequency band from inductive to capacitive one. Transforming waveguide section is made in the form of waveguide with intermediate cross-sectional area or is formed by round waveguide accommodating dielectric plate. Matching conductor is made in the form of singly or multiply bent conductor secured on waveguide wall or on dielectric plate. Conductor is bent either at right angle or spirally.

EFFECT: enhanced matching quality, simplified design.
