FIELD: power engineering; supporting clamps for overhead power transmission lines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed clamp is made in the form of trough with eyes, trapezoidal dies, and U-bolts. Die length 11 is found from expression ll = (0.65 to 0.75)L, where L is total length of clamp trough. Die chute radius is greater than curvature radius of trough chute. In addition, radii R3 and R4 of trough chute bottom part can equal (0.95 to 1.2)d1/2 and (0.98 to 1.25)d2/2, respectively, and distance A between centers of radii R3, R4 can be found from expression (0.90 to 1.2) x (R4-R3), where d1 is minimal diameter of conductor being erected; d2 is maximal diameter of conductor being erected. Such new mechanical design of supporting clamp provides for specified reliability of conductor termination in trough throughout entire range of conductor diameters.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of clamp over its service life.
