FIELD: metal cutting, face milling at high feed with large extension of milling cutter.

SUBSTANCE: tool includes housing at least with one protrusion having seat where cutting tip is mounted. Seat is restricted by base and also by first and second rear portions of lateral wall and it has, mainly circular recess formed in downward direction relative to base. Cutting tip has cylindrical protrusion with cylindrical peripheral surface arranged in downward direction relative to lower surface. Cutting tip secured to seat engages with first and second supporting faces of seat. First supporting face of seat is formed in first rear portion of lateral wall and it engages with first supporting face arranged on lateral surface of cutting tip. Second supporting surface of seat is arranged on second rear portion of lateral wall and it engages with second supporting face formed on lateral surface of cutting tip. In order to simplify manufacturing process and to enhance strength of cutting tip, seat has third supporting face arranged in peripheral surface of recess and designed for engaging with third supporting face formed on cylindrical peripheral surface of cutting tip protrusion.

EFFECT: simplified manufacturing process, improved strength of cutting tip.
