FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: cutting plate comprises body with central axis about which cutting plate has rotary symmetry of 180°, top and bottom surfaces, peripheral surface running between top and bottom surfaces and including two opposite main side surfaces connected with two auxiliary side surfaces, and through bore running along central axis to interconnect said top and bottom surfaces, first and second main cutting edges formed at intersection of main side surface with top surface with convex shape running between main cutting edges, first and second auxiliary cutting edges. Each being formed along connection between one side of main side surface and adjoining auxiliary side surface. Note here that bottom surface comprises base surface formed on ledge extending from base surface onto cutting plate (in bottom view) and partially surrounded by base surface. Note also that grooving is made along central axis connected with plate through bore and having maximum width exceeding minimum diameter of said through bore.
EFFECT: expanded performances due to decreased cutting tool diameter.
