SUBSTANCE: cutting tip has upper and lower surfaces; several lateral surfaces arranged between them; several angular lateral surfaces; turning formed at least on one lateral surface under upper edge and having first and second mutually opposite lateral edges and upper edge between them; first and second additional lateral surfaces adjacent to turning. Each lateral surface crosses upper surface along upper edge at least part of which belongs to cutting edge. Each lateral surface is arranged between first angular lateral surface and second angular lateral surface. At least part of first additional lateral surface extends from first lateral edge till first angular lateral surface and least part of second lateral edge extends from second lateral edge till second angular lateral surface. In order to enhance basing of cutting tip in seat, at least part of first additional lateral surface and at least part of second additional lateral surface are flat ones and they are not laid in the same plane. At least part of first additional lateral surface is inclined outside from first angular lateral surface towards first lateral edge. At least part of second additional lateral surface is inclined outside from second angular lateral surface towards second lateral edge. Cutting tool has seat for placing cutting tip. Seat has base wall, back and lateral walls having respectively back and lateral contact edges. In order to achieve the same technological result, back or lateral contact edge engages with cutting tip in first and second bearing points arranged respectively on first and second lateral edges of turning at least on one lateral surface of cutting tip.

EFFECT: improved design of cutting tool.
