FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out ophthalmoscopy. Basic color component parameters are measured. Diagrams of the color distribution in eye fundus image of patient under study are built in 256 brightness gradations or catheter members. Red color range, green color range, minimum, maximum, mode and median of blue color are determined. The built basic colors distribution is compared to reference diagrams by applying maximum likelihood test. Red color range being less than 46, that of green color being greater than 142, blue color minimum being greater than 16, blue color maximum being greater than 40, blue color mode being greater than 20, blue color median being greater than 24, stagnated optic nerve disk is considered to be the case. Red color range being greater than 83, that of green color being less than 115, blue color minimum being less than 20, blue color maximum being less than 36, blue color mode being less than 20 blue color median being less than 24, optic neuritis is considered to be the case.
EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
