FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: one should carry out ophthalmoscopy and additionally measure parameters of constituents of the main colors. Then diagrams are made of colors distributions in depiction of fundus of the eye in tested patient in 266 brightness gradations. Moreover, one should detect the range and mode of red color, maximum, median and mode of green color. Then diagrams obtained should be compared to standard diagrams by maximum of similarity criteria. If red color range is 60-95, red color mode is 168-200, green color maximum is 112-145, green color median is 79-140 and green color mode is 72-136 it is possible to diagnose optic neuritis. Is red color range - 15-58, red color mode - 202-240, green color maximum - 148-184 one should diagnose anterior ischemic neuropathy. EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics. 2 ex, 1 tbl
