FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and aims at early diagnostics of chronic hypertensive optical neuropathy. It involves ophthalmoscopy with additional measurement of the parametres of two basic colour components - red and green, plotting a distribution diagram of said colours in a 256 luminance range eye ground image of an examined patient, herewith determining a minimum, a maximum, a range and a median of red, a mode and a median of green, then the plotted distribution diagrams of primary colours are compared to reference diagrams of maximum of similarity criteria and if the minimum of red is less than 193, the maximum of red is less than 248, the range of red is less than 96, the median of red is less than 223, the mode of green is less than 168, the median of green is less than 143, chronic hypertensive optical neuropathy is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method enables the reliable diagnosis of chronic hypertensive optical neuropathy for well-timed pathogenetically oriented treatment for visual function preservation.
