FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out photodynamic therapy session two weeks before removing the foreign body. To do it, chlorine row photosensitizer is intravenously introduced at a dose of 0.8-1.5 mg/kg. 15-20 min later, transscleral foreign body and adjacent area irradiation is carried out field-by-field with neighboring fields overlap over 5% by area after having finished photosensitizer introduction. Radiation power density is equal to 120-150 J/cm2, wavelength corresponding to luminous radiation absorption maximum of the photosensitizer.
EFFECT: high bactericide treatment effectiveness; prevented foreign body capsule formation; stimulated chorioretinal cicatrix formation; reduced risk of traumatic complications.
