FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to device designed for suppression of aerodynamic noises of pneumatic equipment and exhaust systems of compressed gas or air. Proposed noise silencer contains intake branch pipe and housing rigidly connected with intake branch pipe and containing noise-absorbing member. Housing contains branch pipe made in form of one of side covers of housing having conical and cylindrical parts. Insert is installed square to axis of cylindrical part. Said insert contains two perforated disks with noise-absorbing member placed in between and pressed by threaded surfaces of other cover of housing in which outlet holes are made. Ratio of length H of housing to its diameter D is within optimum values H/D=1.0-1.5.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of noise suppression.
