FIELD: performing operations; mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for sealing two concentrically arranged surfaces and can be used in machine building, in particular, for sealing pistons, plungers and rods of volumetric machines, for example, pumps, as well as rotating shafts. Sealing device comprises a collar and a support ring installed in a core or a cage between the collars, interacting with each other along the mating conical surfaces. Support ring and collar are equipped with mating cylindrical surfaces. Angle of the support ring cone in the part adjacent to the cylindrical surface is greater than the angle of the cone of the section mating with the collar. Support ring is installed with formation of annular chamber of variable volume between conical surfaces and cylindrical surface of support ring with formation of guaranteed gap between it and collar. In rear part of working surface of collar there is an annular groove with installed mating sealing element made of softer material than collar.
EFFECT: invention increases service life of sealing device and efficiency by reducing preliminary contact pressure in friction pair.
