FIELD: sealing technology; sealing revolving shafts of various machines and mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: proposed end seal includes non-revolving and revolving rings pressed in metal holders forming friction , secondary seals, elastic members and guides; rings of friction pair are pressed in metal holders flush with end faces of holders coinciding with plane of friction of rings. Outer surfaces of one or both holders which are adjacent with friction plane are taper in shape at angle of inclination to friction surface. Rings of friction pair are made from solid wear-resistant material. Rings of friction pair have only compressive stresses and shear stresses are absent due to pressing-in rings flush.
