FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out micro-abrasive pterygium cornea bed treatment after removing the pterygium from cornea surface, until residual pterygium tissues are completely withdrawn. Ultraviolet protection cover is placed over the cornea in removed pterygium zone. Protector ablation coefficient is equal to cornea ablation coefficient for smoothing the zone. The cornea ablation is carried out in phototherapy keratectomy mode with excimer laser of wavelength 193 nm, laser radiation spot diameter of 0.9 mm and treatment diameter equal to 9.0 mm. Treatment depth is proportional to pterygium cornea bed depth to achieve cornea surface smoothness under visual control. Then conjunctiva plastic repair is carried out.
EFFECT: prevented pterygium relapse; improved vision function.
