FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. The cornea in the area of the removed pterygium is affected. At the same time, immediately after surgical removal of the pterygium, 1 drop of a 0.1% dextran-based riboflavin solution is installed on the surface of the cornea for 30 minutes with an interval of 2 minutes. Then, locally, the corneal bed deepithelized using the “Ufalink” system is exposed to high-powered ultraviolet radiation with a wavelength of 375 nm, radiation intensity of no more than 5 MW/cm2 with a working diameter of a light spot of 12 mm from a distance of 30 cm in the amount of 4 procedures without interruptions between them with a duration of each 300 s.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to reduce the degree of induced astigmatism, increase visual acuity after surgical removal of the pterygium, increase the aesthetic effect of the operation and improve the quality of life of the patient.
