FIELD: circulating water supply systems; cooling towers and other apparatus for heat- and mass-exchange between liquid and gaseous media.
SUBSTANCE: proposed sprinkler consists of units stacked from vertical corrugated sheets whose parallel corrugations are located at angle relative to edges of sheet. Each corrugated sheets has two groups of parallel corrugations which meet in center of sheet; corrugations of left-hand half of sheet are inclined to the right from vertical and corrugations of right-hand half of sheet are inclined to the left from vertical. Angles of inclination of corrugations are equal and range from 20 to 30 deg. Stacked corrugated sheets form rhomboidal passages in cross-section; in longitudinal section, each side of rhomboidal passage is formed by transversal U-shaped corrugations.
EFFECT: enhanced intensity of heat- and mass-exchange; enhanced operational reliability of cooling tower sprinkler.
