FIELD: measuring technique.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises exciting ultrasonic waves of mechanical deformation in the magnetostriction sound duct, measuring time of their propagation in the section of the sound duct from the object made of a float provided with a magnet to the reference points arranged at the ends of the sound duct, measuring temperature of these section of the sound duct, and determining coordinate of the object from the formula proposed.
EFFECT: enhanced precision.
