SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrumentation, particularly, to damper for magnetostrictive converter. Claimed damper is composed by a cylinder fitted tightly on the waveguide in cylinder axis. Said cylinder of metal wire lengths wound to preset-length coil and subjected to stamping in cylinder-shaped dies. Said damper can be both solid and consist of several parts tightly pressed against each other, for example, of three or four parts, while its total length equals the ultrasound oscillation wavelength in magnetostrictive waveguide.
